Cambry
Kaylor
Hi, my name is Cambry Kaylor. I'm nineteen years old and
attending school at BYU. A little over a year ago in the
summer of 2005 I was in a horse accident. I broke my back
at T-11, 12 and completely severed my spinal cord. LIke
many spinal cord injuries, the doctor told me that
walking was no longer a part of my future. My life would
not consist of the activities I once enjoyed such as
horse vaulting and dance, but would instead be spent in a
wheelchair. After only a few weeks out of the hospital I
started school where I met some of the warriors from
Leighton's gym. I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw
them upright and walking with braces and canes. I knew I
had to be a part of the program and was soon after
evaluated by Leighton. Since then I've learned how to
crawl, walk on my knees, and I am currently now walking
with braces. The path has not been easy, but well worth
it. The hardest things you do in life often seem to be
the greatest things you do. With this program, what was
once a glimpse of hope has turned into a reality.
